TAHU FM is excited to be seeking a creative individual to inspire, amplify and entrench the voice and presence of
Ngāi Tahu through the radio waves. Turn your passion for
te reo Māori and entertaining into a career with Tahu FM.
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced radio announcer to join the only iwi based radio station in Te Waipounamu!
This is an exciting and varied role, from content creation and production to interactive kanohi ki te kanohi and event based activities. If you have experience working in radio and broadcasting, and don’t mind an early wake up call, we want to hear from you.
We are looking for a talented and driven individual who is:
- An advocate for the use of Te Reo Māori
- Passionate for all types of music – spanning across the decades
- A great and enthusiastic communicator, over the phone and in person
- An innovative thinker, who can develop and implement new ideas
- Motivated to engage and inform our whānau
An ability to speak and understand conversational te reo Māori is critical in this te reo Māori advocating role. We support the development of cultural confidence and provide a safe and supportive learning environment for kaimahi.
Contributing to your success in this role will be your passion and support to enable the interests and aspirations of Ngāi Tahu whānui.
In return, you will be part of a dedicated, supportive and high performing team who take pride in providing entertainment, waiata, news and kōrero.

If you want to know what is happening with your Runaka? Once a month we catch up with our Runaka for an update in their takiwā. From Te Tai Poutini to Kaikoura, Koukourarata, Tūāhuriri, Kati Waewae, Oraka Aparima, Wairewa and Arowhenua.
